The Ph in British water is 8.5, that is why it is so high. I need to do something, even if it is putting chemicals in the water to help. It is either I find an antibiotic to help him or something else or I put him out of his misery.

What can I do to cure his fin rot? Is there a cure? My guy is barely hanging on here, thinking about putting him out of his misery.

He's in a 22l tank, not sure about the water's purity but my water is very hard if that helps. Not sure how old my betta is, got him from the pet shop around 6-12 months ago, he had fin rot in the shop but I never knew it was fin rot, I doubt he is very old.

The tank is rich in algae but should I be feeding them? There are over 20 shrimp in that tank and my water is moderately hard so they have a lot of calcium.

I would add more plants but I do not want to risk the danger of disease spreading. Last time I introduced plants, the java moss seen in my tank, I got an outbreak of cyanobacteria. The java moss is more dense behind that temple, so I guess I might just let it grow?

What does aspirin do to shrimp? I understand that it will get inside them and probably cause stress but what can it so long and short term? I should have read the damn ingredients before I used that medication
