Sometimes fish get stuck between the glass & net , putting something like a magnetic glass cleaner in the gap to enlarge it stops you losing fish that get stuck . I use nets never leave the bottom grid in just pack the net with lots of plants for fry cover & keep the net at the back of the tank...

I have 3 tanks in the kitchen at home which get the sun all day temp can get very high other tanks are away from the sun and are ok , I keep the curtains shut to block out the sun & open the outside door when I can keeps the temp down also have good aeration , lights are off during the daylight...

The slots at the bottom are 4mm wide and an inch long I want the fry to drop through into an empty tank below , ideal for what I need .

Don't understand those calculations they seem wrong to me if 15.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 = 2 gallons ? 2 gallons convert to 9.0922 litres ? I calculate 15.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 to 2 litres & I've just sealed it & it holds 2 litres of water , as short term use as a breeding trap it looks big enough for smalish...
