Thanks for the replies, well i have a decent samsung 5mp digital camera and it's great but i find it hard when taking pics of fish and the tank they always seem to be a bit blurry, i wish i could take some better pictures.

Currently i have my betta in a 12 gal tank, i am not sure whether to keep him on his own permanently or whether to add a few fish to keep him company as i feel sorry for him being on his own. I was thinking along of the lines of maybe 5 rasboras and a small pleco that only grows to 4" or 5"...

I really need to do a water change as my ammonia and nitrite levels have risen, only problem is i've ran out of water conditioner, i always use aquasafe but i have used fresh start in the past. Does anyone in sheffield have any? i need around 80ml if its aquasafe and around 40ml if its fresh...

No filter media didnt dry out :D, the water change was done within 20-30 mins, the filter was mostly underwater the whole time so it should be ok.

When i did a water change last night i turned the filter off, only planning to leave it off for 15-20 minutes, i done the water change and totally forgot to turn the filter back on and only remembered 5 hours later when i thought there was no movement from the air pump and i thought dam i didn't...

After doing a 40% water change today i have done a 50% water change and my levels are:- Ammonia 0.2mg Nitrite 1.5mg P.H 7.5 I've managed to get the ammonia done quite a bit but the nitrite is not going down, i will probably do another 40%-50% water change tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks for the message, yes the filter was fairly close to the sand so i have moved it right up now to try and stop it getting clogged up again.

Firstly i use sand as my substrate and i have 2 fluval 4 internal filters in my tank, i notice that when i go to clean my sponges the filters are very hard to open due to the fact sand has got into the filters, sand is much better than gravel though isnt it? especially when you have cory's...

I've done a 40% water change today and the water levels are still the same, I have not got any aquasafe left so tomorrow i will buy some more and do another 40% water change.
