I have 2 clowns in my 55, and they're always out and about. Never made me think that I need to add more, since they're always doing something to grab my attention.

I just have one 55. Someday I'll get a huge one, but til then this is good enough for me.

My Kuhli loaches are a snap to catch... maybe they're just too lazy.

That would be a 22 gallon tank (So a 20 prolly) US gallons anyway. UK 19 gallons, or 86L Make sure it's cleaned out real good before used.

My clown loaches follow my shark all over the tank.

^ yes so true, my rtbs chased my bala shark around all the time. Well now that hes 6 inches or so and my rtbs is a tad smaller guess who does the chasing now? :D Actually he doesn't chase him, more or less just mocks him.

My two clown loaches eat anything and everything that they come accross. Tubiflex worms, algae tablets, bloodworms, flakes, shrimp pellets, sinking wafers, and heck even crab bites.

Have that same sand in my tank, love it.

2 Aquaclear 500's or even 300's would work, and they are dirt cheap. I'm partial to Emperor 400's 2 of those would be great.

Personally I would have tried to tape it and then get even. You can't let other people push you around like that.

So the tank is a week old? I take it that it's not been cycled yet and what you are seeing is a bacterial bloom. Are there any fish in it? What color would you say the cloudiness is?

I used to have gravel with my cories and they survived just fine. Although when I did switch to sand, boy did they sure become a lot more active.
