Im feeding twice a day. Once before i goto work 8am and once when i get back from work 7pm. Feeding fish flakes, 1 or 2 large pinches at a time. with occasional pellets that sink to the bottom for the loaches as they hide alot and dont get the flake food when put in.

How much sand substrate should i be using for keeping cichlids? my tank is 36in wide 15in depth 19in tall I currently have 30kg of play sand in the tank...giving just over 1.5inches of substrate..... is this too much?
