Ok got that figured, thanks for the help!!! So this is the tank. 3 weeks old and one week with the new lighting. The back left is looking a bit bare at the mo, im waiting for the vallis i put in friday to grow in and fill up a bit... Opinions welcome :)

Ok so how do i decide how much i overfeed by? like i said i use seachem flourish and seachem iron. the instructions say to feed 'X' amount once or twice a week... should i feed more often than recommended. more volume than recommended or both?i have shrimp in my tank... would the extra copper...

ok i get it... but... well ill go back to the dog analogy ( i have 2) If i overfeed them they will produce more waste. so true and definitely needs more cleaning lol. if however i feed them the right amount they will produce the 'expected' amount of waste... right?

I could be too late now... and im not sure how it would work out with the trigon... but i have just replaced my juwel t5 lights with a 4 tube t5 luminaire for the same price as an extra juwel unit.

Personally I'd take it back to the shop you got it from, or at least go and speak to them. If you have only had it a month it shouldnt be breaking down already. It could just be the tube, but even thaty should last longer than a month. Juwel aquariums have a 2 year guarentee if im not mistaken...
