Hi guys, I'm going to rescape my tank next week but the problem is that the tank's already stocked. Will I be able to restock the fish into a large bucket whilst I rescape? How long will they last w/o a filter? Can I leave the fish in the tank? eeeek, tips please!

I think you already have too much in your tank. Especially since golden barbs can grow quite long (3inches) and tiger barbs to 2 inches....

to control the co2 at night, i run a timed airstone to remove the CO2 after lights out

brown algae is common of newly set up tanks. they feed on silicate that is leached from the glass cichlids prefer a long type of tank as they can swim length to length also... good luck catching those zebra danios... i still have 2 left in my tank from the first cycle!

It depends on your own tapwater's GH/KH... there's a calculator over here that lets you work out how much RO you need to get a specific GH/KH In most hardwater parts, 50/50 seems to be a good norm

do you have co2? i found that adding a single nutrafin co2 unit completely got rid of hair/thread algae in my tank ...alas, it's now green that's dominating =]
