I think it's just the lighting.

    Bloated or egg-bound?

Most of the week she gets pellets. It's only once a week or so that she gets one of the others.

I feed her frozen blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, or betta pellets. The others get micro pellets or a good flake.

Thanks! Would Fritz maracyn work as well?

    Bloated or egg-bound?

Oh, that's definitely the reason if it's bloating. She's a real asshole when I feed the others.

    Bloated or egg-bound?

Thanks! Any tricks for keeping her from getting into the other fish's food? I think that might be the cause.

    Bloated or egg-bound?

I've always had male bettas, so this may be a pretty simple question, but I can't tell if my female betta is bloated or egg-bound. There's a male betta in another tank 10 feet away, so I'm not sure if he could even trigger her from that distance.

I'll grab some when I get home from work.

0, 0, 5, 7.5 ph, 79 degrees. Weekly water changes, every other day once over of the substrate. Once a day he gets frozen blood worms or betta pellets. He's pretty much there all day with rare bouts of swimming.

That's interesting. I'd always heard and kept them in 10g tanks if it was less than 10 of them. No nipping on either side, they tend to just hang out.
