    Bargain On Ebay

trimacs have been the meanest fish I've kept, def solo tank occupants unless kept with other big guns, which isnt a great idea either as eventually would mean an all out war.

    What Is This Fish?

more recent pics would give a better indication to the health, in this pic you can notice tattered fins and the color of the fish suggests stress...Personally, I'd use aquarium salt and many water changes before using meds, but opinions differ.

    What Price

In my experience with fry, a shop can sell quicker and at a much higher price then a breeder as they have a footfall and we only have the web.

Clown Loach Party At The Back Of The Tank

As above really, I keep a large group and they are much more confident in numbers, they'll choose where they want to hang out though.

    It's Been A Long Time

As above, should be fine, SD's make good tankmates for most cichlids, although I rehomed mine as they constantly used to beat my cichlids to food.

    Blue Dempsey

I'd agree with regular JDs being stunning, overall hardier then EBJD, easier to find and much more likelihood of them turning out healthy (i.e. no beak or deformities)....My avatar contains a photo of my old EBJD, was approx. 9” and absolutely stunning, will post some more, unfortunately was one...

    Stocking Help Around Green Terrors

Personally wouldnt add any other cichlids to a breeding pair, especially those on the lower scale of aggression such as EBJD. Every GT I've had has always turned out to be a trouble maker, never kept a breeding pair, but I'd expect them to be even worse, do you intend to raise the fry from the...

    Minimum Tank Size

Would suggest posting in the Old World Cichlids forum. Suggested max size is 10", so would suggest at least a 12-15" depth of tank.

    What Background Paint ?

I used emulsion outside the tank and no problems, if I want to ever change it, it wont be as difficult as if say I used gloss paint.

    Red Terror Cichlid -Cichlasoma Festae

I've never really kept two females together, only when growing out as juveniles, female festae are aggressive and may want to exert dominance over one another even if there isnt a male festae in the tank. Also, their colours only come out when in breeding mode, and I've found a male cichlid...

Thanks Zoddy :) Will take and upload more recent pics and start a separate thread. I've got some pics on phone of both in breeding dress, the male has almost the same colours as the female.
