    Oxygenating The Water

Yes of course I can leave it on but I've had aquariums off and on for over 20 years and have always been able to turn off the bubbles for a day or two. We normally turn them off during feeding time. But with this new tank we have not been able to do that. We think it has something to do with...

    Oxygenating The Water

We are having problems keeping oxygen in our tank. We have a bubble bar in the back of the tanks that produces a lot of bubbles and breaks the surface but when we turn off the bubbles our fish seem to be gasping for air. We turned it off last night at around 5pm and by this morning 9am all of...

How Long Should I Keep My Pacu?

They were mostly neon’s, which are smaller, then his food but we feed him fist so I can see what he eats. He never bothers with the smaller fisher normally But his mouth is the size of my thumb and I can see he has four teeth. hrh

How Long Should I Keep My Pacu?

She loves her pacu but he has grown to over 7" long and wider than a hand. We have a 150 gal tank. I think he's too big and will start to eat the rest of the fish if we don't get rid of him soon. We have mixture of community and agressive fish, he seems placid for now but 7 small fish have...

    Pleco Needs Help!

What is the common name for Erethromycin? Would you treat the whole 150 gal fish tank or take him out and treat him in a smaller tank? I have about 55 fish but he seems to be the only one with a problem. The placo is about 12" long, but now he seems so much bigger with that fat belly. hrh

    Suggested Water Changes

Is there a recommended amount of water that should be drained and replaced every week or month? We were told 10% a week and 25% a month. We used to do about 33% a month in our 38 gal tank, but now we have a 150gal tank so are worried that might be too much. Any thoughts? hrh

    Pleco Needs Help!

It seems fine except for being fat. It swims ok and seems to be eating, its mouth is always moving anyway. I will check the other things you asked about, but could it be pregnant? We had another plecostomus in the tank for awhile. Maybe something happened?

    Pleco Needs Help!

Does any one know if the peas fixed the problem. We have a pleco with the same problem fat belly. We did drop a few peas last week but we didn't shelled them first, we just dropped them in, after a few minutes they sunk to the bottom. But it doesn't look like anyone is eating them anyway...
