So i've decided to change my 3 foot tank to sand and am wondering if you guys think its a good idea to use a layer of my ADA soil underneathe the sand?
I do plan on having a planted tank (just simple no Co2 etc) and am wondering if its worth putting a layer in or just leave it as sand?
So I want another carpeting plant for my 5 gallon besides the hairgrass I have in there.
Is fissidens splachnobryoides any good I like the look of it and i'm running DIY Co2 with high light and doseing with ferts so will it do alright??
Any other recommendations?
Oh an will Xmas moss do well...
So I was staring at my 42 gallon algae ridden fish tank after feeding some bloodworms and realized how lazy i have been with my tank. I havent done a water change in maybe 3 months or more now just topped it up once. Funny thing though I have only lost one tetra and a cory in that entire time...
So I got a free 4ft tank off my sisters bf and he didn't actually realize the bottom has a nice big crack from one side to the other (could have been when transporting) so i'm thinking what else I could use it for???
I'm thinking hermit crabs or green tree frogs (will have to get a reptile...
So due to my laziness I lost a few fish in the last month and only just got my tank back under control and need to add a few more fish.
This is what I have left in the 42 gallon tank:
6 neon tetras (had 15)
5 cherry barbs (had 10)
5 albino cories (had 6)
Now I don't want to add anymore of...
So i'm fairly new to this job at one of my local pet stores and had a little disagreement with my co-workers. One of them was talking to a lady about bettas and told her that they can live in tiny amounts of water because in the wild they live in tiny puddles of the footprints of buffalo in rice...
Nothing but a small bristlenose, they both just ignore each other.
My guess was the wood I have in there as it has tiny thin branches that stick out everywhere that he could have got caught on and I only have real plants in there so he can't get caught on them.
I'm just wondering if anyone has some detailed plans on how to setup a wet/dry filter system to run 6 tanks at once?
I mainly need the piping plans cause I get how the actual filter part works just don't know how the piping would run and connect to all 6 tanks and how the overflow thing works...
So I bought a crowntail betta about 2 months ago and specifically bought him cause he had the best fins i've ever seen at my shop really long and full. Now i've just noticed he doesn't look quite the same and realized his tail fin has been ripped off its about half as small as it was :(
So i'm...
So i've just got a 4 foot tank and am wanting to put some sharks (silver, rainbow and albino) in there but want to know how many are usually safe together and what other types of fish can go in with them?
