For my mum's 200L she just puts 2 10g heaters next to where the external filter disperses. Seems to do the trick.

He should be fine. Iv had fish jump out like that before too, I've never any of them fall ill as a result. The best you can do is just keep an eye on him. You might also want to make sure your tank is completely covered and secure to prevent future incidents.

That is disgusting. The owner should have been shut down and jailed for animal cruelty. The fish are destroyed because they are in terrible shape to begin with, and should not be allowed to enter the fish trade. If kept alive, they could not be distributed or sold, as it is in violation of the law.

Those symptoms and illnesses are often attributed to poor water quality. The fish sound pretty bad off, it may be too late. If your going to do anything, you should get the water parameters to normal, and attempt to properly diagnose and treat the fish with some meds. Snap some photos and post...

Odd, most cats are some what wary of strangers. Can't imagine one breaking into someone's house to take a leak, though this cat may be the exception. Shouldn't be too bad, just do water changes and watch that ammonia.
