well, the tank was inherited from my father-in-law and he used the under gravel filter. at the next cleaning, i will get rid of it. presume i just run with a single gauze/sponge filter then. there are only 4 fish in at the moment. the neons never changed colour - just died / disapeared.

something else that has just occured to me is that the plants i was buying didnt last too long either - maybe 4-6weeks. i have pretty much stopped buying plants as i was forever cleaning up dead leaves - related?

shark died ages ago - outlived the neons. i found all but one neon - so its not the cat fish - which is dead too.

had the fighter and the guppies at different times. ok, water down to 28 and then after a week or so, down to 26. most of the shops around me have the tanks warmer.

Nutrafin - put some water in a test tube and add reactant - then compare to colour chart. 40gallon tank for 1 red tailed shark then????

sorry - 60l tank DOH! what is rts? the 30deg is set that way cause the fish shops here seem to have the water that warm. i will knock it back a bit.
