    Rainwater is typically noted to have 20 ppm. If the hardness of your water is above 20 ppm, it will reduce the hardness, but since the pH of rainwater is in the range of 5-6, it can negatively affect the fish in the aquarium.

    Yes, I am aware of that too, but I have been keeping 1 goldfish, 5 cory catfish and a bushymouth catfish in this water for about 3 years. I have not encountered any visible problems so far.

    The French unit I am referring to is abbreviated as F, FH or FR. 1 fh° = 10 ppm

    Dimensions of the tank: Length 43, Width 28, Height 34. Hardness of 50 FR mains water. PH of the water is 7.2. I don't know about the other questions.

    I have a 40 liter tank and the water temperature is usually between 24-28°C. The water hardness is 50 FR. I want to keep only one sex of fish to avoid breeding. Can you suggest a peaceful species that can live in these conditions?
