Too many goldfish in frog pond?

Thanks again, I was thinking of trying a minnow trap. Lower it in and bait it, minimum disturbance to my muddy small pond.

Too many goldfish in frog pond?

Thanks. I don't want to drain the pond. But yeah a big net, and then confine the fish to a smaller volume. So what to use as a big net? Say 12' by 6'

Too many goldfish in frog pond?

For years I had a single goldfish living in my frog pond. (About 10 feet in diameter and 3-4 feet deep. Natural runoff, no pumps.) That fish disappeared one year, (perhaps frozen due to silting in of the pond?) so I dug out the pond (with back hoe) and purchased ~$1 worth of feeder goldfish...

    Plant problems

They all died. I'm a very hands off/ low maintenance fish keeper. I like a natural look. There's ~1/2" (1cm) of silt in spots, and a large (but unknown) number of snails churning through the bottom. There's a sponge filter on the canister input that get's cleaned with a water change. As...

    Plant problems

Byron, thanks. I've reduced light level by half. (removed one led strip.) Re: light spectrum. I had two 20W plant/aquarium florescences. Kinda reddish in color. And now have white led's. (30 W grow lights, full spectrum. )

Y Color is normal, ~orange/yellow guppies. But yeah very skinny, also distorted body shape and inflamed gills. I've just been culling the sick fish.

    Plant problems

Thanks, I'm a pretty lazy aquarium keeper. I probably clean out the canister filter once a year. I use to have to harvest net fulls of duck weed and a few yards of elodea every ~month. And now my plants are wasting etc. Light level is the only big change I can think of. My hypothesis goes...

    Plant problems

I'm new to TFF. Thanks for the site. I've been keeping a planted tank for ~10 years. Mostly elodea and moss, but some grasses and lots of duckweed. But now it's all dying. After reading the "Back to Basics" post I think I can trace to problem back to adding a bright LED light. Can more...

Thank you. The pictures of the neons were indistinct, and I've now removed the sick neons and guppies. This morning there was one really sick looking guppy. Thin body, red gills. see attached pic. My tank has been set up for ~15 years. I don't know pH or other data you ask for.

Pictures are hard to get. Neons have loss/ fading of red color, tattered fins and tails. Some swimming problems. Swimming with their head down. Though this might also be a mating behavior... it's my first time keeping neons.

Hello, A few weeks ago I bought ~14 neon tetras for my 40 gal. tank from a discount pet store. (mistake.) I believe I've introduced neon tetra disease to my tank. I'm thinking I should remove all the tetras from my tank. The other fish in my tank are guppies. Some of the bigger females seem...
