So I have one Kuhli in my 29 gallon tank with 6 corydoras, 4 black phantom tetras and a Japanese guppy pair. Is this a bad set-up for the Kuhli?

He was dealing with this issue since July - I tried 3 different meds plus aquarium salt and Stress Guard. He never completely got over it though and it eventually took over. Still, he lasted a long time with it!!

Thanks so much everyone. I feel better just having this forum to share with. I ended up finding a way to create a quarantine tank for him using a plastic tub and he’s breathing easier. Guess I’m going the longer, natural way if this does turn out to be his time.

My Corydora is suffering from cotton mouth and is struggling to breathe. I do not have any clove oil and do not have it in me to smash his head. Is it more humane to take him out of the water to suffocate quickly or for him to suffocate slowly as he gasps for air? (I hate that I am even asking...

Hello! What ended up happening with this issue for your gourami? I’ve got the same thing happening on a side fin for one of my Corydoras. The cotton growth comes and goes but the white ‘bone’ remains!

Wow! Thank you so much for taking time to spell all this out! I’ve already got some salt in the tank so I think I’ll start with the water changes to give them all a break and to make sure I don’t do too much salt or too long.
