amonia and nitrate and stuff is fine! i have corys in my two other tanks and they gulp air all the time but its the back flipping and the playing dead all the time that is worrying me.

i bought two assasin snails yesterday as i have the same problem as you! if you have a big infestation buy a few more but the assasin snails will take care of the problem :)

I had tiger barbs for my first fish but does limit you to what other fish u can have with it. it would be worth asking at the shop about compatability between the different species you like :)
