    Firemouth Or Rams?

I want to introduce a new fish into one of my tanks and I'm split between a lone Firemouth with my 8 inch JD, a Parrot, a Juvenile Flowerhorn, and young Lima catfish.   Or place a few Rams in with my Angelfish.   Give me your opinions please. I'd love to hear them

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

Yes. He has many spots, caves, crevices and planted plants as well as floating plants.   He won't eat. Didn't touch the worms, pellets, flakes, or minnows from the pond. I'm worried because he won't eat.

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

The Jack Dempsey is active but very peacful for what he is. He is completely oblivious to the other fish and they both swim freely together often right next to each other. The Catfish however just floats and watchs the other fish eat during feeding time. Is it the food? Itried pellets and...

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

I threw in a dozen earthworms and he wouldn't touch em. Dempsey and the Parrot ended up eating em all. He hasn't touched the pellets. You think he's just nervous, or should I try something else?

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

Thank you :) I will. He's quite the character. But on a more serious note, What should I feed this guy?

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

The fish is a little under 7 inches and is housed with a large Jack Drmpsey Cichlid and Parrot in my 55 When he gets a little larger I'll put him in the cycling 80. And I doubt he'll get that large, biggest I've seen is 24" It looks like a Lima to me, but I like to make sure. Thanks.

New Catfish! What Do You Think?

I recently purchased a fish labeled "Shovelnose" from a rundown local fish store. I saw this poor guy in a 10 gallon tank and dropped $20 on him. He looks to me like he's a Sorubim lima or a Lima Shovelnose Cat. I'm new to Cats so any advice would help or a confirmation on the ID of this fish...

So I recently purchased a small Red Texas and he's in my 25 until he grow larger. Can anyone tell me about there experiences with this fish? He's only a little over an inch and he is with a larger Con at about 2 inches. Btw this is my grow out tank, I let younger fish grow in this tank before I...

    Introducing Fish? Jd W/ Brp

Yeah, you're right, fish can be quite unpredictable, they have their own personalities just like people. They've gone a day without any fighting or flaring. So far so good. And I plan on updating tanks when the Parrot is much larger. A 55 is suitable for the two at this time.

    Introducing Fish? Jd W/ Brp

I currently have a solitary 7 inch Jack Dempsey Cichlid in my 55 gal, I just put my 3 inch Parrot in with the Dempsey. Do you think this will work out? They've been together for 2 hours and no one has fought yet.

    Breeding Jewel Cichlids

Just wondering but aren't Jewel Cichlids and African cichlid, I was recently told they were not but I had always believed them to be African cichlids.

    Brp Help

Actually all the black has disappeared and he or she is looking much healthier. Eats regularly and is less shy but still hides whenever I come to the tank. Was your Parrot really shy and timid when you got him?

    Can Fish Food Expire?

I have larger, and much slower fish so it works for me :) especially that poor parrot fish, he struggles a little when it comes to feeding. So he really takes two minutes.

    Can Fish Food Expire?

You should give enough for them to eat for around 1-2 minutes depending on how often you feed them a day. And I feed my fish once every other day with flakes, enough for two minutes of feeding. And once a month an occasional earth worm or two as a treat :) They love those.
