Hey all Have had 2 oto's for abotu a week now and they dont seem happy. They both have a real thing for the heater in the tank! and aren't eating any food i put in for them and there isn't any growing algae left! What can i do for them?? cheers

depends on the fish, i've seen my platies munch a very small snail and i hear loaches are rather partial too

Thanks for the advice guys, looks like someone else is rehoming that tank now..... but i'm keeping my eye out for a cheap/ free set up as my other half really wants a species tank! Have a new arrival of the fury variety coming today now too..... getting like a zoo roud here!

guys am very very tempted to nab a tank and fish that are being offered on here.... whats the best way to transport? tank should fit into my cars boot i know its not ideal but its approx 1.5 hour trip. advice please thanks

my tanks about the same size, platies and guppies thriving i'd go with 3/4 male guppies the ones with the big showy tails and about the same number of male high fin platies, lots of fun to watch too my boys are all bonkers! I do find the moving stuff about in the tank every soo often helps keep...

hey all my gups are about 3 months old, was wondering at what age are they fully mature with all their colours etc? the 3 boys i have all have orangy tails but thats as colourfull as it gets so far

already been told to watch them like a hawk! they are munching the plants though !! the taller one at the front was twice that size pre oto!!! will get them some cougette... but they may have to fight the guppies for it lol

Am putting in algae discs but they have shown no intered in them as yet... but its only been 4 days with the otos its amazing the diff in the tank already!! they really are excellent little caretakers!

Only bought 2 as thats all that were left in the LFS, I'll have to keep my eye out for more but its only a very small tank (35ltr) and i dont want to over stock, got the Octocinclus as i was told they has a low bioload - is this true? Cheers guys
