Gold Barbs LOVE company. They absolutely need to be with other barbs or other friendly schooling fish!!! And they are hardy fish, that spend most of their time near the mid-level to bottom of the tank. And they are egg layers. Hope this helps.

They seem to be doing a lot better since i got the test kits and tested twice a day. Also been doing 25% water changes every other day. Lost 4 during the Fish-in cycle but 2 strong guppies and the pleco made it! Thanks for all the help and advice. I've definitely learned my lesson!

I got 3 male guppies. 1 yellow and 2 orange spotted. I have a fairly new tank, and they seem to be doing fine but the yellow one is a lot less active then the 2 others. also he is hangin out on the bottom by the fake flowers a lot. Should I be concerned?

I did read the fish-in cycling. I have been testing twice a day and im getting the roughly the same results. pH around 7.2 and all others at 0. Checked on them this moirning and they seem to be doing fine. My marble mollie still at the surface a little but that's it.

I bought the test kit today. They are acting better only surfacing once in awhile...is this normal for mollies and guppies?

Ok, changed 75% of the water, tests still the same....now what?

Did my test with the API master test kit. pH was 7ish, ammonia was 0, nitrite was 0, and nitrate was 0. Water is just cloudy and they are at the surface. I just got a 10 gallon tank, filled it with rock that i bought then boiled to clean, a couple decorations, also boiled to clean. hen added water. Waited 2 days then got fish. The water is now milky, and my fish are at the surface, what's goin on?
