I added the ammonia and tested the next day and it was still pretty high but it was starting to cycle because they’re were nitrites. I added the ammonia late the night before and tested more in the morning so I should have waited for a full 24 hours before testing but I had family coming over...
What do you mean dropping? The nitrates should stay at the same level unless I do a water change. I haven’t put the fish in bags thankfully. Happy to hear that I can finally put the fish in soon it’s been awhile. I tested before and after the water change. Before was probably in the 40s I think...
Finally had a chance to check the water levels. I checked on the 24th and the ammonia was still high. Today everything was looking good (0). The nitrates were high as expected. I just did a water change maybe about 50% and now the nitrates are at .5 or so. Would it be safe to put the fish in...
Ok so I need to do a water change today to get a higher pH? After that add 116 drops of ammonia and by tomorrow if the tank is cycled nitrite and ammonia should be zero? If it’s zero do a water change to take out the nitrates and then could I add the fish in tomorrow if that all works out?
I added 2 doses of ammonia the first was just 4 drops then the 2nd was 116 it was asking for me to do another 116 drops on day 6 but all the levels were still pretty high so I was waiting. I’m not sure what day it is today. I don’t think I should add the 3rd dose because the test results show it...
I’m actually quite surprised by the amount everything dropped! I never added the 2nd dose of ammonia but I don’t think it really necessary. Here are the levels for today…
Nitrite- 0
Ammonia- 0
pH- 6.6
Nitrate- 10 to 20
Defiantly need to do a big water change I’m thinking today? Maybe 50%...
On day 6!! I haven’t been testing the water, just before I add the ammonia. Today is when I have to add another 116 drops. Here are the results…
Nitrate- 20
Nitrite- 5.0
Ammonia- .25 - .5
PH- 7.6
The results are quite high and obviously to dangerous for fish. It says by day 7 and 8 you can...
Finally got the doctor Tim’s and some ammonia!! Planning on adding the ammonia (116 drops I believe) and the entire bottle of Dr Tim’s 2oz. Just planning on following the directions on the website. Just figured I would post on here if there is any special advice anyone has! I already have...
Can someone put a link for the Dr Tim’s? For some reason I can’t really find the right bacteria starter for freshwater only marine tank starters come up. Thanks!!!
