ik but i saw a electric blue ram in my pet store today and i have to have it lol ! so could i put in 2 female electric blue rams 3 male australian rainbow fish and 3 female australian rainbow fish

smaller more frequent water changes are ussualy better than large ones and no topping it off would not do anything. gooodluck :)  

if you have a filter it should provide enough oxygen in the water so id just keep it on for looks :)

i would assume it would be fine but id go to my local pet store and glance at the tanks and see if they have the same lip your talking about guess i have really never paid that much attention sorry. good luck

i would do more smaller water changes rather than big ones 

to add sand id scoop all the gravel out and take the sand out them in round pitchers fill them half way and put the hose in there and let it over flow but dont turn the hose on to high or youl lose all your sand ! belive me when i say this works all my tanks have sand and if your wondering what...

i love large tanks with a few large slow moving fish puts me to sleep lol :)

im not sure all the decorations i use ( besides sand and backgrounds ) i get from lakes or streams

maybe a decoration in your tank could be putting something in the water thats killing them
