    Indoor Tropical Plants

It doesn't but I've kept the plants in pots level with the gravel. I've barely watered them, when i have I've syringed tank water and put a few drops directly into the pot.

    Indoor Tropical Plants

Very nice, I like all the types you mentioned. I planted this a few weeks back but one of my succulents got a white fuzz on it and practically turned mushy. What do you think caused it?

    Opinion on ramshorn snails

Personally I see them as a pest usually hitching a ride on a new plant. I wouldn't get them unless you have something to control the population or simply want a snail tank. Horned nerite are a nice little snail, good cleaners too.

    Tough Decision

Heartbreaking decision. I'd personally let him go, sooner rather than later. He's obviously suffering and there is no guarantee the operation will leave him with a pain free happy life. When we take animals into our lives 'knowing' we will see them out is a big commitment and sad ultimately, but...

The piece was small, and I split it in two. It's just a space filler to add texture and a natural element for the snails and fish. 4" by 3" Nothing spectacular. I'm not concerned.
