An acquaintance of mine has a blood parrot and an Oscar that were constantly battling. We did some research and she brought in a Severum and a large Synodontis Catfish. The Oscar and B. Parrot battle less. The Severum has become more confident but is outweighed by the either the Oscar or the...

Mixing African Cichlids With New World Cichlids...

A special note: The Senegal-Dinosaur Eels probably should not be paired with the Danios or any fish they will out grow. It was advised the same should apply to the larger cichlids on your list, even though these are primarily peaceful . The quote was. " They are still cichlids" and I inferred...

And if you have a sand substrate, stir sections of it to release trapped gas pockets from decomposing plant matter, food and fish waste that is buried in the sand. It (the gas) will rise to the surface and be dispersed into the air. Because gravel doesn't compact as tightly as sand there is...

I have busy today but I wanted to answer your post because as of this writing no one has. * Cichlids should usually be housed in their own tank. Many species will kill even aggressive tiger Barbs. Also most tropical fish species go with a lower PH. Average 7.6. Most cichlids with a higher PH...
