    Will This Fish Make It?

This is a large gold barb who has obviously scratched himself (or been abused by his tankmates). Do you think he'll make it? he's been like this for about 3 weeks, and it seems to be getting worse not better. He's currently in a plastic breeder box, but when he's free in the tank he's hiding...

Have I Made A Mistake In Buying Kribs?

Three weeks ago added a pair of common kribensis to my 40 gallon tank. They're in there with tiger barbs, black ruby barbs, 2 redtail sharks, a pleco, an Odessa barb, and a clown loach. All is well. Fish store said they'd be ok with these other characters.

    Algae Question

I hear there's a big difference between a SAE and a CAE. CAE's are the nasty ones. SAE's are supposed to be peaceful. Just won't use chemicals! Thanks!

    Algae Question

What's curious to me is that this tank has been running in the same location for about 5 years with no problem. There are two external filters, and an airstone to provide water movement. I will pay more attention to how long I leave their light on. A Siamese Algae Eater can't hurt though, right?

    Algae Question

I found out that this is "black brush algae". Ways to treat it seem to be all over the board from 1) getting a Siamese algae eater (which I do plan to do), 2)bleaching everything with the crap on it, 3) do nothing and enjoy the "decorative" algae, 4) blasting it with a product called "Excell"...

    Algae Question

I have recently discovered some interesting growth in my 46 gal. tank and need help identifying it and deciding what to do about it. I have plastic plants in the tank (please, no comments), and some of them along with the lava rocks I have in the tank are getting some fuzzy growth on them. Best...

    Corys

I love corydoras!! They sit on the bottom and wink at you. They do best when kept in large groups (I have 8 of them in a 46 gal tank). They are also long-lived, which is a good thing when you're attached to them. Unfortunately mine are on gravel substrate and I'm not going to change that...

    Stealth Recall

I was a bit disappointed in the company's response. When I contacted them, they sent me a postage paid label to send my heater back, but would not replace it with another Stealth. They said a refund would come. How much? $27 unless I had the original receipt. I told them $27 wouldn't buy...
