🐠 TOTM EmmaS - January 2026 Tank of the Month Winner

Any advances in the war on duckweed?

Correct answer. Its easy to kill off. Remove as much as possible and create surface agitation like you say. You can also use a surface skimmer to remove it.

    Do you use an airstone?

Buy them already installed. Saves a lot of hassle

    Serious problem with blackbeard algae

No-one really knows to date why it appears for certain. I've seen it in a lot of tanks that goes against the narrative. I have it in some tanks and not others. Certainly light i believe is one major factor. I myself over the years have had enough of breaking down tanks because of it. Using...

ok... so you are breeding... how much do you landscape breeder or holding tanks???

My favourite method of breeding fish is in a tank with lots of plants and some wood. I also cover the bottom with lava rocks which are fairly big in size. The eggs get trapped between the rocks. My cryptocorynes and stem plants are in pots for easy removal. All my plants can be removed quickly...

    CPDs cannibalizing???

Can you take a few pictures and I'll try to sex them. You can also drop the temperature down to 72f comfortably. This will also benefit your shrimp greatly and your electric bill lol.

    CPDs cannibalizing???

I have about 20 so maybe why I don't get this problem. The only time I have them in a small group like yours is when I breed them. What sex are they ? Try breeding them it's extremely easy. You are probably at your limit to be fair.

    CPDs cannibalizing???

I've kept these species for over 3 years now and they can get fiesta with each other but not to the extent of injuries. Maybe a nipped fin. It's mainly with the males. I have heard before they can be aggressive . I can only go on my experience and they are no worse than any other fish. Be...
