I would love to and am planning on doing so when I can get a bigger tank, but it will probably be a few years. I don't know that another rope would be comfortable.
The rope fish is currently around 8-10 inches and they grow rather slowly. I have had some smaller platies with him before and he tried to eat them, so it would have to be something a little larger than a platy or danio
I currently have a well established 55gal stocked with the following:
1 ropefish/reedfish
3 bronze cories
3 sterbai cories
1 pearl gourami
1 gold gourami
1 upside down catfish
I was wondering if I could safely add another fish species, preferably something colorful and active to liven up the...
I have had my ropefish for over a year now and he only will eat live worms. consider getting a box and media to raise red wigglers in from a bait store, they will reproduce and highly reduce your cost of food. Plus you know they are being kept and fed in a pesticide free environment
I purchased some dwarf baby tears for my tank as a carpeting plant, but it has now taken over the top of my tank. It is all floating and I can't get it to stay in the substrate. It is clogging the filter and it is in an active tank so I can't drain it and plant it that way. It is in a 55 gallon...
I have recently noticed a few pond snails in my tank along with some ramshorn snails and trumpet snails. I have had terrible trouble with pond snails in the past and would really like to get rid of them before they become a problem. However, I don't want any harm to come to my trumpet snails...
I have a 55 gallon all male mbuna tank. I am looking to add a few more fish species to the mix as mine are all still juvies.
Here is what I currently have:
Melanochromis johanni (electric blue johanni)
Labidochromis caeruleus (Electric yellow labido)
Melanochromis auratus
Maylandia zebra (red...
Right now I have a piece of mesh rubber banded around the end. I am going to have to look around to see if I can find the part. It's an old filter and I don't know if they make them any more
The bottom of my fish filter intake tube, the part with the little slits in it that keeps big things out of the tube got lost while I was moving. Does anyone know of something else I can put over the bottom of the tube?
Alright. Thanks for the information. I really love my S. nigriventis and don't want him getting hurt so I guess I will have to see if the LFS will take him. I actually got him as an unplanned purchase because they had put it in with some more aggressive syno species at Walmart and they had...
