Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Even at lower doses? (Since he isn't getting the full dose down his throat)

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Gave him 50mg of metro today dosed in gelatine food. I believe he ate maybe 50% of it, so 25mg. Will it help if I can get a dose of that size in him daily for a few days now? Unfortunately the pleco's got some in them also, but likely just a mg or two each, so shouldn't be bad. Also noticed my...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

After 4 days of starving, his bloat has gone down A LITTLE! :) He is also behaving completely normally now, moving gravel and fake plant around; begging for food, etc. Should I still aim for metro treatment, or skip that now? He still has bloat, but behaviour has improved and bloating slightly...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

No answer from the vet yet, but likely will only be an online consultation; which I doubt will give anything. Should I try making some gelatine food with Prazi and Metro? Found those in pure form here locally, under a different name. Kind of expensive, but if it might help I will absolutely try...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Felt the same, but a bit shocked that he gave such poor advice. It's not a normal LFS, it's extremely reputable, with the owner having worked within the aquarium hobby his entire life. Bit shocked at the poor advice from him, although he was at least honest about not being sure if that med would...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Was recommended this one from my LFS. He however did warn that it can be quite brutal on fish, but the product page says different. Thoughts? https://www.tropicalfishsite.com/waterlife-octozin-hole-in-the-head-and-bloat-treatment-review/

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

EDIT: Yes, I can get those here. Should I do that yet, or check anything more beforehand? Not sure how I can accurately diagnose him. Been a month, he just gets worse and worse; but no super clear symptoms.

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

He perhaps went nr 2 from the peas. He has passed food normally, and they aren't empty poops. Found these meds locally, thoughts? https://www.jbl.de/en/products/detail/5573/jbl-nedol-plus-250?country=hr#details...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

The thing hanging out of his bum is still there. Could it be a dead worm?

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Pretty sure the water is pristine, maxed out at 10-20 ppm nitrate just before doing a waterchange. Unfortunately a fish vet isn't really an option. Doesn't exist here, and even if it did, it would likely run into the thousands of dollars for a real checkup. A surgery for a cat runs about 5000$...

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Nothing at all. Last addition was a new filter 9 months ago, a plastic plant a year ago. Anything living (plant/fish) was at least 3-4 years ago last.

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

Nope, floating. Honestly doubt its due to diet. After 4 days of starving and 7 days of near starving, it should have shown atleast some improvement. But it didn't.

Bloated Oscar fish - What can I do?

I have a Oscar fish who has gotten pretty bloated as of the last month. He behaves normally, eats normally, etc. Today he was very sluggish, but ate normally yesterday. Fasting did not result in bloating going away, tried this for 4 days without food, then a week at 30% feedings, and then 70%...
