just put some of the fry in anything that has a decent size, cons don't have problems with temps around 22 degrees, and if you change the water regularly, they will grow very well. I've had con fry all over the place, even in buckets, and none of them ever die, they are the strongest fish ever...

the storage box thing is a good idea... if you are lucky to have a room that is always warm enough, you could even leave out the heaters, and work with smaller boxes... this can be handy to separate different batches

thanx does anyone know of good sites about guppy genetics? I think it must be very interesting, I'm wondering how the fry grow to be these colours, when the parents don't look like them... and now in my newest fry, I get all red tails with yellow shine...

he said a breeding tank, so that will probably be it... and you shouldn't overreact on the birth trap=death trap thing, they aren't that bad, if you get the bigger kind, and don't leave them in there for too long, that's fine...

Couldn't do any harm I guess...

are you using a breeding net in the big tank? in my experience, this is the best way, because the water parameters usually are far better than in a smaller tank. After a month or so they are big enough to go free...

oh, okay, so I'm not the only one with this 'problem' :) in fact, I haven't had one female platy fry too, so they are even worse as my guppies... maybe if the fry see how beautiful males get, they all want to change into males... :P

and guppies are equally easy... (and incredibly interesting concerning genetics)

I don't wanna mess with the ph, so I guess I'll leave it this way... I guess a lot of breeders would like to have the ratio I have :)
