    Nitrite-weird Test Result

I have been fishless cycling my tank for the last 2 weeks by using Ace Hardware's Janitor Strength cleanser. The ammonia level is now changing from 5ppm to 0ppm in less than 12 hours whenever I added the ammonia. My nitrite reads approximately 2-5ppm (can't really tell, but closer to 2) right...

    Salt In Freshwater Tank

It is not necessary nor recommended to use salt on freshwater on a regular basis. Salt should only be used to treat diseases but constant use of salt will lead to salt-tolerant parasite. Thus you should only use salt when you're actually treating for the disease. Also, you should not use your...

    High Temperature..how To Control It?

Don't use ice. Even though it might decrease the temp a bit, it will rise up again to room temperature very soon and fluctuation in temperature will stress your fish. The best way to reduce the temperature and keep it low is through a chiller which could cost a few hundred dollars. Or you...

    Ready For Fish.

If his tap water contains ammonia, the cycle will start automatically... I think that's why the ammonia level fluctuate.

    Penguin 100 Bio-wheel

There is no point to let the filter run for a day in my opinion. I think you might be confused about what "fishless cycle" really means. It does not mean that you don't put in anything and let the filter run for a few days. Your tank won't be cycled even if you run your filter for a year...

    Weewee

Possible... because urine contains ammonia. Nevertheless, this method is NOT recommended because nobody knows what other elements are in the urine...

    Cycling

Is your tank cycled or not?

    Penguin 100 Bio-wheel

Your "expert" doen't know what he is talking about... It is impossible to completely cycle within 36-48 hours by any means! The cycle does not start until you add the fish or some ammonia, so running a filter without fish or ammonia will not cycle the tank.

    Guppies In Tropical Biorb

Male to female ratio should be at least 1:2, 1:3 is recommended by most people. Nevertheless, one thing you have to keep in mind when keeping guppies is that if you have both female and male in the tank, you are very likely to end with lots of them in a few months.

    Overstocked?

Yes it is flawed since the 1" per gallon rule tend to UNDERESTIMATE the amount of space required. i.e. More room is actually required. So if you can't pass that 1" per gallon rule, your tank is gotta be overstocked.

What Is The Best Way To Feed Corydoras?

You should put some wafer into the tank at night after all lights are off. That way only cories would be able to find the food.

All Fishes Have Died In <2 Hrs

Cycle is a crap, good for nothing. Bio-Spira would work, and Stability would possibily work (I never tried it b4 but some people had gotten good result from it).

    Room For One Female Betta?

I know it probably look like you still have a lot of room in the tank, but I wouldn't suggest putting in any more fish. I had seen so many people with overstocked 10 gallon tank...

    Overstocked?

Will still be overstocked in adult size... If you just simply look at the 1" per gallon rule, you'll have 2*4(two pearl gouramis)+2*3(guppies)+5*2.5(cory)=26.5, all in adult size. Since it is already overstocked with 1" per gallon rule, it is definitely overstocked. But if you have a good...
