    Test Kit

pH, KH, GH, NitrAte, NitrIte, Ammonia, You can purchase a master text kit that comes with everything but the KH and GH (for water hardness). But depending on your tap water you might not need the hardness kit. You can always take a sample of your water to your LFS and they will normally gladly...

    75 Usg Rescape

I recently rearranged my 75 USG tank. It measures 48"L X 21" H X 18" D. So far I have one 6-7 inch fire eel (Mastacembelus erythrotaenia) (hiding in his tube most of the time) who I have had for 2 weeks now. Bought him for $20 =D. I also have a Sail Fin Pleco (Pterigoplychthys gibbiceps) and one...

    Uv Sterilizer

Hey guys, I have a 75USG tank with a fire eel and pleco in it. My water has a bit of a greenish hue to it as it gets direct sunlight for about 3-4 hours a day. (Not by my choice) I am considering investing in UV Sterilizer and was wondering which one would be best for me as I have never really...

    Uv Sterelizer

I have a fluval 304 and I am considering investing in a uv sterilizer. My tank placement gets direct sunlight. (not by my choosing) so my water has a slightly greenish hue to it. It's has other possible benefits as well but my main goal is my green water. I have a planted tank and do a 12% water...

    Lovely Jewel Cichlid!

Jewels are pretty easy fish to care for and can grow to 6 inches if conditions are right, normally 4" in captivity though. Pretty easy to take care of but sexing can be quite difficult. However, if you have a group they can be easy to breed. Just make sure you have lots of hiding spots to make...

Zig Zag Spiney Eel & Channa

Those might be tire track eels. If their design goes all the way down to the belly its a tire track, but if the belly is mostly plain then it is a zig zag eel. Beautiful specimen either way. I also agree that the second one is a rainbow snakehead. Great finds!

    Can You Identify These Cichlids

I got a couple cichlids from an "assorted" cichlid tank. I think this guy is a Metriaclima estherae, but I am not completely sure because his design on his fins throw me off. I think this one is a Haplochromis polystigma.

    Red Top Zebra Behavior

I have two Red Top Zebra cichlids in a tank and I believe one is female and one is male. (One is brightly colored the the other seems quite dull) The one I believe is the male (brightly colored one) does this weird thing I've never seen before. He will all of a sudden start shaking, almost as if...

    Fire Eel Question

THanks! I tried frozen bloodworms today right after i gave him some live blackworms and he ate a few without spitting them out. How often should I feed him? I had read once every two days is a good amount. Ill be sure to try some earthworms!

    Fire Eel Question

The gravel is good its all smooth for him and I broke out my spare tank to set up so I can remove my cichlids and just let the pleco and my eel have the 75 gallon. Hopefully this will fix it and ill think about tank mates once I have him eating out of my hand. Ill be sure to add more shade...

    Fluval Or Eheim External Filter?

I have used a fluval 304 for about 6 years now for my 75 gallon cichlid tank. I love it and it has never let me down. Ive only had to replace about $20 worth of parts in those 6 years.

    Fire Eel Question

Thanks for the quick reply and I will be sure to make some more shade, I am also thinking of getting a LED moonlight so I can try and feed him when its dark. I have a 75 gallon tank that is 4 feet long. He has about 7 tank mates besides the pleco. There are one blue peacock, one blue johanni...
