Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

Heh. I'm in the Brandon, and saw him in the Valrico wal-mart on 60.

Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

Well, Buddy's in an uncycled 1.5 right now, and getting half-gallon to 1-gallon changes daily. I really just don't have the $30 or more for a tank with filter, substrate, and couple plants. More worried about making the ones I have comfortable right now, and getting my 10-gal set up.

Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

Hee. I'd really rather pass him on if I could. He had a better personality than the others (Or was new and not bored stupid yet) and was pretty, but... I don't have any cycled tanks he could go in, I hardly have time recently, and I've got other hobbies that have sucked my budget for a long...

Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

I do want him, but wouldn't be fair. Any other betta keeper could take care of him better than I. I'm having a tough time right now keeping my mom's betta (Vegas) and my own (Unofficially 'Buddy' or 'Cutter' cause I think he's a tail eater) in good health. -_- The latter is killing the...

Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

I'll take the camera when I swing by there again this evening. Soda run and a search for the floating thermometers that have appearently gone extent in this town... Wal-mart bettas are always a bit dull, yeah. I kind of expect that. But he appeared in good health otherwise, and he was...

Curious About One I Saw At Wal-mart Today.

Soooo wanted to buy him, but don't have a proper place at the moment. Anyway, it was kept with the veiltail bettas. Sorta mustard yellow with thin dark blue lining on his fins. Not the best colors, but the pattern was nice. What's unusual is his tail--not the draping veil. A bit wider than his...

Anyone Ever Found A 'temperature Switch'?

Alright, just spent a while searching for that. Worked well, this time around. Thanks. :) Still, everything I find is preset to turn stuff off above a certain temperature. Maybe with some rewiring, I could manage to flip that, but I'm not an electrician. Thanks, though!

Anyone Ever Found A 'temperature Switch'?

Well, I didn't expect to find a, quote, 'thermometer switch'. So I searched for 'switch +thermometer' or '+temperature', the like. And I do have concerns about the computer fan control, too. Wasn't sure if the probes would work right, or would put a current in the water. I've seen some water...

Anyone Ever Found A 'temperature Switch'?

My aquarium levels right around 81 degrees a good portion of the time. It can get plenty warmer with me, a running computer, a TV, and lights on in the room, and it was hitting 90 when it had twin incandescent bulbs in it. I, thankfully, don't have any fish in it yet. I'd like to stick it...

    Co2 System Safety

I'll chip in here... I play paintball. I feel perfectly safe running around, having projectiles fired at me, and holding a Co2 tank filled to 20 ounces of liquid Co2 at 800+ PSI against my face. Perfectly safe, as long as everything else in the system is up to the pressure you run it at. Just...

    Clarifying On Fishless Cycling.

I've read the sticky on it, and just want a little live help on it... Been bringing the ammonia in my tank up to 5ppm, to go by the little chart card. It's too the point where this is coming down to between .25 and 0ppm in about twelve hours. Did a 50% water change today because my nitrites...

Im Giving It A Last Shot

    1) Good water conditions and a couple basic medications. 2) Depends on the size. For a 10 gallon and larger, about once a week, as conditions require. Smaller, probably more often. 3) It all needs cleaned up--eventually. It will break down to an extent, but if you use a siphon cleaner to...

    Members' Betta Showcase

My recent Wal-mart rescue. Not really named yet. I've just been calling him 'buddy'. Not a breeder. Veiltail, not the best flare at his tail, and having problems with it going ragged at the edges. Still trying to tack down whether he's got quick fin rot, is causing his tank's...

    Double-checking On Ammonia.

Well, the PH is naturally a bit high from the tap, so I'm sure it's a little hard. No liquid kit for that--yet. I did mention I don't trust the strips. I'm not worried about a PH crash yet, what with the daily water changes. I'll test it. And if they're not wildly off the chart, the tap water...

    Double-checking On Ammonia.

Not mineral water, just drinking water. To quote the bottle, verbatim... Source: Deep well, Ocala, Florida Processed by: reverse osmosis, micron filtration, ozonization, ultraviolet light. He's got a half-dose of aquarium salt, which from my understanding will take care of most of the...
