I would never do that.. Also, the tail and fins can regrow in due course of time.. All you have to do is take very good care of it, do proper and if required daily 50% water changes. Correct me if am wrong. Hope he/she recovers soon. All the best. Urs, Deeps

The definitely a female.... it might sometimes close its fins... but as said per the first the pic.... its a female... and also, thts a lovely platy... :)

Even am learning things now Tracey... :) ... my Marble Sailfin molly is getting ready for her second batch now... expecting that to be sometime this week.... :) but the male who impregnated her died, the same one we were discussing abv.. :( I already have around 50 :hyper: 10 from the same...

Thanks Tracey for all the help.... The LFS guy said that I can add the fish immediately, but i havent done that.. and did some sample tests with our tap water.... and they were fine, then I have added the fish... I now think that i made a mistake not to cycle the tank fully... wil do that...

I have set up my tank 2 weeks before and added the fish after a week..... this was the only fish which died since then, so havent thought it culd be a problem with my tank setup... got to check the stats.....

Havent checked the water stats yet... i guess they are fine, but the problem is with the new lyretail females i bought the other day.. One of the female is chasing all my mollies and my betta even..... all the other fish are moving away when it comes near them and also, this it is chasing every...

Will water plants be sufficient to provide their veg food? Or should I add some boiled and crushed peas?? Anything other veg food that am supposed to add... plz suggest..
