I have a well planted tank so I just leave them alone to fend for themselves.

How large are your Firemouths. I had a pair a few years ago and they kept harassing smaller fish. Having said that others were ok when younger and added to the aquarium last.

Because i mix tap water with RO water to get that reading, the tap water has a reading of 380 approx.

Hi hope you have treated your Neons by now. You should have a quarantine tank then you could have transferred your sick fish for treatment to it, also when you buy new fish put them in it for a month or so, just in case. All the best.

Oxygen pump? You probably mean air pump, these don't put oxygen in the water but what they do do is agitate the water surface where the transference of gases occur.

I have the same problem, unless the fish come to the front I would never see them. I don't use fert's and never have I believe with the correct lighting and the fish waist that's enough. O and water changes. I've tried to post a photo of my tank but I keep getting message it's to large.

Do you have an external canister filter on your tank. What I do is disconnect the in/out unit (For want of a better description) and open the valves I find this method to be ok. I have a Fluval 306 (New model)

Hi all, it's just a comment but I have read not to use Vaseline as it reacts with the rubber. I always use silicone grease and never had a problem.

Pond is approx. 1mtr x 1mtr x 60cm. Approx. 336ltrs.
