    Predator For Culling

In Great Britain feeder fish was once not uncommon, and well into the 80s so-called feeder guppies were regularly sold in aquarium shops. This has however changed somewhat, many British hobbyists and retailers assume that feeder fish usage in the UK is illegal. This legal standing however...

    60 Gallon African Oddball

Anything substantially larger than the mouth of the ctenepoma and polypterus once grown. I had geophagus as they swam together and were always active but too large for the others to try anything with. Just for note my senegal, ctenepoma and GEOS all lived together from juvi to adult might be...

    60 Gallon African Oddball

I kept a Senegal, Palmas in a 60Gal without issue, along with Ctenopoma,Hoplosternum and some GEOS. Just make sure u have serious over filtering as they are all carnivorous and messy. Plenty of plants and some light and dark areas..u should be fine.

    Polypterus Senegalus

My Senegal was in a 60 gall and nearly 11" when it died. To say active would be an understatement mine was all over the tank all the time.

Little Advise On My Baby Mbu Puffer

Puffers are extremely intelligent creatures and get bored very quickly, If you just want him to live in there fine do what you want. However if you want him to flourish and become a truely exceptional specimen like Mbu can be and if it were me id start looking at improving his habitat

Little Advise On My Baby Mbu Puffer

Your tank is all wrong for a Puffer tbh. Far to sparse and empty, too bright. Get rid of the rocks and stones, get some huge bits of wood and loads of plants around the back and sides so that he has a place to go relax and feel secure.

    Dwarf Puffers

Just becuase its working now, doesnt mean it will continue to or should be advocated to others. As mentioned above by Neale, Puffers are not sociable fish as a rule and shouldnt be treated as such. Keep them singularly or in groups of their own species where applicable.

Why Are Fish So Difficult To Photograph

Ive used lamps in the top of the tank to add light while blacking out the room, then tripod. Next set your camera so its focused on an area of the tank and wait. Dont start chasing fish about as this will make it much harder to shoot them. If you are already focused all you need to is click...

    Mbu Puffer

They get huge, so start planning for at least an 8-10ft tank with about 4-5ft in depth. Also they are freshwater puffers not brackish

    Puffer Tail Nipped

Itll grow back eventually, as a rule though puffers dont tolerate each other. So dependant on what species they are it will either get substantially worse with one eventually killing the other or could just be setting a pecking order....usually its the 1st though.
