sorry I meant to say that they were blue gouramis. I acutally have four tanks, but I doubt that they'll want to go with my oscar, African Cichlids, or clown fish lol. I'll get a few more females.
Last year I bought a pair of male gouramis that a lady had apprently brought up to the LFS because she found out she was moving within a few days. One was 5" long and the other was almost 6". I already had a younger male in this 30g tank for a while, but I figured that because the two had been...
Everythings back to normal and thriving! I started to add more of the schooling fish do the ones who lived through it don't get too stressed out. Thaanks for all of your help,
Dan
I had a bgk for 5 years before he got ick and passed. It was not a particularly bad case, jsut the meds killed him in the end. I'll tell you what I did to treat it so you don't do what I did. Half dosed malachite green/ formalin for 3 days and ended treatment. He took it well for about a week...
ok took out most of the plants since they were rapidly decaying. Its amazing how much they've changed since Monday. 2 more died today but hopefully thigsn will start to shape up. The larger fish seem to be more resiliant to it. thanks for the help,
Dan
Thanks for the advice both of you. I've done water changes, filter pads are 3 weeks old, tap doesn't have ammonia. its not as prominent as it used to be. There's jsut the slightest ammonia tint in the test tube. Anyways, i don't know if this would be a help to you all in helpign me but I've had...
I think that that is jsut an awesome tank. Yellow labs can be done in an aquarium with tropical fish. My Biology class as a senior at high school took care of one that was with 35 zebra danios I bred at home in a 29g tall (60L) tank. It actually coped quite well but that year I took it home and...
hi everybody,
Well I've had this planted 30g tank set up for a few years now with rare casualties and death. The only problem recently was my pictus was eating everybody, but he's in QT now. Here's the deal... I have ammonia reading less then .25 now and nitrite is 0. No idea what the source...
Hi everybody,
I'm intereested in swapping out my 55g African cichlid tank with my 75 gallon planted one so I can get larger peacocks. I have sand with the cichs and gravel with the plants. I'm wondering the best way to do this since I have to take out the substrates as well as the fish which...
Is your lighting particularly strong? Being albino they may be upset because they don't have a place to seek shade and lack pigment in their eyes, so its extra blinding and stressful. Since its only hapenning now and you introduced them a few days ago I doubt this is it... but how did you...
I did a little DIY with the reflectors. I know a guy who makes sattelites and has roles of tape that are too old for him to put up in space, but go froa pretty penny when new. Anyways they go on the sats to reflect the sunlight and are practically mirrors and work realyl well under the hood.
hmph thats interesting since the water quality looks pretty good. Accidentally put a chemical in the tank or forget to dechlorinate? What are the tankmates? How long it been set up?
he was in a 30g planted with the neons. Africans are in a 55 where all are mbuna. They're the non-aggressive ones compared to Africans but aggressive compared to tropical kinds lik yellow labs and cobalt blues.
