Then what would be a suitable companion? Besides a bottom dweller. Anything that eats tropical flakes? Since my betta dislikes them it would make make it easier during feeding time so they wouldn't fight over each others food.

Was thinking about getting a companion for my existing male betta. Possibly a blue crowntail female betta. Would they be able to cooperate together? Without the male getting aggressive? A chat with the staff at the pet store where I bought the male betta convinced me not to but i'd like to hear...
