    Fry Male Or Female

My guppies (only livebearer that I've kept) really seem to be 50-50 mix between males and females. I've not heard anything about temp or ph changes effecting the ratio between male and female births.

My Cory's Are Laying Eggs This Morning

Eggs don't last long in my tank, they are a favorite food with the other fish.

    Found Some Endlers

My only suggestion with feeder guppies is that you allow a long quarantine time. More often than not they are not kept in the best conditions and are prone to have some sickness in the beginning.   Other than that, treat them like any other tropical fish. Vary the diet and allow them to enjoy...

My Cory's Are Laying Eggs This Morning

My cory's are finally laying eggs again. Of course all the other fish are eagerly eating them as fast as she can lay them, but it is a great thing to watch.

    Emergency Fry Food

Totally agree, any fish food crushed up will work. Hard boiled egg yolk is also a good choice for fry and fish.

    Baby Celebes Halfbeaks

I know that a lot of people separate their fry from other fish, but in my experience providing some plants or other things to hide in does the job incredibly well. Fry are born knowing how to hide, all they need is a place to do it.

    Indian Rope Fish?

The rope fish is different than pipe fish. Rope fish get quite big, almost 3 feet in length and are sort of like an eel. Pipe fish get about 8 inches in length and look like a long thin worm almost with a longer nose.   liveaquaria usually carries both fish.

What Did You Get-Or Give For Valentine's?

While I agree that all the major holidays have become entirely too commercial, that doesn't keep me from making it a special day.   I didn't give my girlfriend a gift because it was Valentines Day, I gave her a gift because I wanted to. Of course I don't limit my gift giving to just holidays.

My Guppy Has Been Pregnant For 4 Months

Adults don't always get a whole lot smaller (depending on their original size). It's easiest to tell the difference in color of the gravid spot (it will be lighter).   Now if you are sure that she is pregnant and hasn't given birth, you may have other issues that are causing the problem...

Guppy Fry For The First Time

I agree, it takes a few weeks for the beginning colors to show up. Males tend to color up faster than females. Between 5 and 6 weeks old, you'll be able to tell the difference between the boys and girls. The girls will develop gravid spots. The males take a little longer to develop, so if by 6...

    Platy Giving Birth :)

A place to hide is best for new fry. Plants, little house decorations, driftwood, things like that. Even a little terracotta pot would help.   Fry are pretty good at hiding if they have a place to do so.

    Online Fish Selling?

If you're doing it as a business, you're city, county or state may require a business license.   If you're just getting rid of extras, nope.
