i stopped in petco the other day and they just started carrying a new betta called king bettas. they look like females as far as the body/ fin shape goes but the are much larger than any male i have seen. wondered if these were PKs. they dont look as pretty as the pictures of PKs iv seen but i...
dont know about that species... but, it should have a tank long enough and tall enough to jump back and forth in without bumping its head or smacking into a wall lol. i would recommend setting up something very similar to a turtle tank. basically it needs land if it is a frog that like to swim...
another tank will be in the plans. flat stone, will do. anything else? by the way, what size fry tank should i use? they will be given to lfs at about 1", so it will have to be something big enough for them to survive in until then. it will also have to be space saving so what is the smallest...
im about to have an empty 10 gallon to do something with and iv thought about a breeding pair of GBRs. iv designed a setup, tell me if you think it has any flaws.

-HOB filter with sponge over intake
-plants: java moss...
ok, i guess ill just leave it as a shrimp habitat. thanks for the advice. by the way, it occurred to me that the water out of the tap might contain copper traces do to copper piping (i dont know if i have copper piping but i dont want to take the risk). since copper kills shrimp should i get a...
two of my bettas are in "betta bowls" and i need to get them out of there and into nice homes. im wanting to divide a 5.5 gallon in half but dont want to pay big bucks for something just because its labeled "aquarium divider". plus im not even sure iv ever seen one for such a small tank. any...
the title pretty much says it all. im researching cherry shrimp since im wanting to start breeding them soon and i was just wondering if i could have anything else in the tank, like an african dwarf frog. or would it eat the baby shrimp? im thinking of using a 5.5 gallon tank. any thoughts on a...
that will be fine, just dont add them all at once of course. id say take your time and add them over a period of 2 months to be on the safe side. if you have lighting at or above 2 watts per gallon i recommend planting it. a well planted tank can easily be "overstocked" and still remain vital...
