    What are they?

Don't worry, I don't mind hearing this. I'm just pleased I have an answer for it! I'll start keeping an eye on the male as the other female is pregnant and I don't want both to abort. Thank you for your help.

    What are they?

For the last few weeks I have been looking after a trio of guppies for a friend. One of these is heavily pregnant. Earlier she went to the top of the tank, so we were sure she was about to give birth. However, she has started dropping what look like tiny transparent green eggs, which the...

    Platty Mum advice

I agree with sunflower. My platy gave birth over night last night and is in a cave with the corys today, keeping away from the rough-and-tumble of the tank! As long as she is eating and looking good she should be fine.

Another product of fish cruelty :(

Fish are not fashion accessories! They cannot justify the cruelty they are inflicting on them

    Cory problems

I went to my lfs (who are very good) and took a sample of the water up, in case my test kits were off. But they got the same results as me. I asked the lady there and she said that sometimes people just can't keep certain fish(this is my third cory death in the space of six weeks). Apparently...

    Cory problems

I clean the gravel when I do water changes (twice a week). I do a different section of the tank each time, an area of about 1/3 of the tank. I'll clean more or less if it would help.

    Cory problems

He died overnight :( and had a sort of pink colour on his sides. I think it was a problem with his swim bladder but how can I prevent it from happening to the others?

    Cory problems

One of my cory's is acting strangely: I looked into the tank earlier to find it lying on its back, breathing rapidly. In a fit of panic I moved it into my hex so I could keep a closer eye on it. It started swimming again, but at the top of the tank with its head facing downwards. It is now...

    Why do you keep fish?

My parents had talked about getting a fish tank for years, but it wasn't until earlier this year, when my dear old cat died, that we decided to do loads of research and get a tank. We have started off small but hope to get a new (and larger) tank next year. I find the whole thing fascinating...

    Cory death

Okay, here's the lowdown: I have a Jewel Rekord 96 which has been cycled for about 6 weeks (spent a lot of time researching at this site whilst it was cycling - fishless) We have added all the fish gradually since it was cycled and do a 15-20% water change twice a week. The fish get fed once a...

A surprise addition to the family!

I'll get some pictures up when he/she gets a bit bigger. It's still hiding in the plant at the back of the tank and is to small to photograph!

A surprise addition to the family!

Thank you! I haven't had the fish long so wasn't expecting any extras this soon! It hides in the gravel and in a bushy plant we have and only ventures out when the others are feeding :)

A surprise addition to the family!

I have just completed my weekly water change only to discover a single tiny platy fry hiding in a crevice in the wood  I had no idea any of my females were pregnant! I'm so pleased about it, I had to share the news!
