In my locality there is no supply of any live food.
I feed my guppies Hikari Fancy Guppy for adults and Hikari First Bites for fry.
I have observed that the fry start to die once I start feeding them.
Maybe I need to change food(not live) for the fry to survive.
I have tried to breed them with similar color partners of other breed. The resulting color was same, but the eyes were black. And this guppy pattern has everything red including eyes.
Over the years, I have kept many types of guppies and successfully bred them. Normally the fry are very healthy and on an average so far 80 percent of the overall fry population have reached the adult stage.
I don't know what's so strange about the Full Red Guppies(have attached a picture of...
Under my care only 4 out of 10 guppy fry complete their full life cycle.
The rest 6 is the total count of fry that don't survive more than 4 months.
On an average 2 guppy fry die every month.
Is this normal or the survival should be better ?
If taken proper care, how many guppies out of 10...
Hi there,
I am from Mumbai, India. I am very fond of Hitachi Aquarium Lights
as they make the aquarium look beautiful.
But recently in Mumbai, there is a buzz around that Hitachi has
stopped manufacturing/supplying the aquarium lights.
I confirmed from the local stores here and most of them...
I have guppies. I feed them Hikari Micro Pellets.
Am going for a two week vacation.
Thinking of installing an automatic feeding machine.
Not sure which model/machine is the right choice
for thin and tiny micro pellets.
There is a risk that the machine may release more
pellets than required...
I had brought some Daphnia(to raise) just a few days ago from a local pet shop.
I had found round ball-like organisms with Daphnia at that time.
It didn't bother me as these organisms were very few as compared to the daphnia.
Now, after 20 days approx. I see that these organisms have...
But what I have noticed is the algae eaters will eat only those things that are lying at the bottom,
and anything that sticks on the vertical walls.
I have not seen these kind of fishes catching anything that is swimming around.
Now, I am looking for a solution for the glass algae.
How about some algae eaters like plecos, chinese algae eaters, otocinclus,....etc...etc
Is there any algae eater fish that doesn't eat daphnia ???
I had problems keeping daphnia outside due to increased population of mosquitoes in my premises.
Thats why I stopped keeping daphnia outside.,
I would like to keep them outside, but just want to avoid mosquito larvae.
