I live near the large city of Leicester, UK and about a year ago, I saw a pair of platies with what I can only describe as perfectly marked 'French Flag' bands of red, white and blue! They were quite healthy, cheap and I wish now that I had bought them but my small tank was already overcrowded...

My endlers are a jazzy mix of bright green, orange and black and silver, with tiny splashes of red blue and white on some fins. I didn't realise there are other colour mutations but they sound very interesting.

Thanks for all replies (especially so quickly after I posted my naive enquiry). Endlers with forked tails, waving 'hanky' dorsal fins and coloured females seem fish to avoid in future. It is strange to see a hermaphrodite of both sexes (likely to be infertile). I live in Leicester (Central UK)...
