thanks for the advise... I guess I'll leave the tank as is. But decided to carefully increase feeding to eliminate the possibility of the reason being competition for food. Incredibly the aggression drastically reduced. Still being chased by the female but no more mortal combats... Guess things...

if u dont have any or enough yet, you may want to add some permanent buffers such as several rock&substrate types as each water change will have a roller coaster effect on the parameters it seems. those numbers are good but u need to maintain them.
