Thanks Tweety, he doesn't have any of the symptoms you mentioned. here's another picture of his anus. It looks like a jellyfish donut. Would constipation cause this?

Sorry, I didn't get the numbers...I took a water sample to my local fish store and they did the testing. They said everything was good. As I stated, I do a 1/3 water change every week and change filters once a month. I was feeding him frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms.

Tank tested, everything within limits. Not acting odd...just hanhing on the bottom, or perched on a rock. Sorry for the late request...but i've been working with him all that time. Why peas? This fish is approx: 18" long and about 5 lbs. Even sich he ain't gonna let me put peas bown his throat...
