I have pebbles to silicone together to keep them safe from falling on fish, now you might laugh but not sure whether to use it as i have read you need to buy tropical friendly for fish tank silicone, except mine is from B&Q, it is a translucent all purpose sealant, it is water resistant...

Hi, i recently had the same happen to me, i only had 1 in my tank but he was fine for about 2 weeks, like you said he could get out, he used to sit up by my lights too and could get out easy too, my water was fine too but sadly he died for no reason too, this might not help but the same problem...
