I was sold a dual 40w satellite with an actinic blub for 170 dollars at the LFS. After researching my buy, I'm finding that this is a light for reef aquariums. Did they rip me off? I will it definitely help me grow any species of plant?

same here. purists would say there shouldn't be any with Mbuna, but I like the green, a color you can't find easily in Malawian cichlids.

He's been hanging by him/herself in a corner of the tank, very still, not social and seemingly depressed. I introduced him a week ago with another Livingstoni and two Rusties. No one in the tank picks on him/her and he/she comes to feed at every feeding. But afterwards, he/she goes right back...

thanks guys! broccoli is great, especially if you have a pleco in there with them. I cut off the stalk and feed to the pleco at night and he devours it. meanwhile, the little bits on top of the broccoli are great for Mbuna to pick off. perfect veggie. glad to be here.
