Thanks for the rely all...the fish die yesterday. All the other fish are fine...all of its tank mate are community fish...tiger barb, clown louch, bala shark...since all others are OK. I guess this is just an isolate sickness of some kind.
I am not too sure. Its body doesnt look like it has any damage. The tail fin does have small pieces missing, other than that everything else looks good. The strange thing is that it doesnt even look like a sick fish. All the color are very bright...but it just lays on its side and not move...
one of my tiger barb is not moving at all. When it swims, it cant seem to balance itself. So it just laids on the bottom of the tank, breathing very fast. Its color looks normal. So, whats wrong with it? What should I do??? I hasnt eat for two days now...errr.
Guess I am one of those lazy ones who hardly ever cleans the tanks...I usually dont clean mine for 6 to 9months. What I think what happened is that my tank has somehow begin to sustain itself with live plants, good flowrate within the tank, and a balance of fish. My fish are too getting large...
I have 5 firemouths in my tank along with the exact same fish as you described. And the firemouth dont seem to brother them at all. They might chase each anothera bit, but still not as much as other cichlids. The only time my firemouth dig up the gravel is when they are breeding. (2nd round...
both the parents and babies are in an 80gal tank...well, with a divider to separate them from the other fish. So, I guess its 40gal now.
I also forgot. Do I need to feed them anything? I try small flasks, but the parents just eat them all up.
Have 2 firemouths that just had hundreds of babies. When do I need to separate the parents from the babies? At the moment they are doing a really good job of protecting them.
Got a few questions:
1. My two Firemouths just had hundreds of baby firemouths. When do I need to separate the parents from the babies?
2. Do I need to feed the babies? When I feed crushed flakes the parents just eat them all up.
3. What do a protein skimmer do? I noticed a thin white film...
Hi all,
I notice there is a think white film on the surface of the water. It breaks up very easy. I try changing the water, but it comes back very quick. What is that? How do I get rid of it.
I am planning to get an 80 gallon tank. I will be putting in a lot of live plants, rocks...
What kind of flow rate should I be looking at?
Can anyone give me some filter recommendation. And type of medias to put in it.
Thanks.
