can i add anything to the water to help break the poo down or something?

sorry i need to amend a previous statement. I have only just bought the plec today so its only been the bristle nose in the tank with the other fish would that be the cause.

i change water and syphon gravel ever two weeks it that too little? would sand make it any better?

Well I have three females and a male in my 200L tank and thy are quite happy, You have the space if you want to get more but the should be fine as is. Chris

Do you have any pictures of your fish to determine thir sex? Basically females have a more rounded dorsal fin than the males if you would rather do it your self. I think a few females will help if they are both males, unsure what to do if not the case!!

OR just seperate them if all else fails however only as a last resort!

what size is your tank? It could be too small for that many fish!! Ive not seen any of mine behave in that way however, its not uncommon for males to chase females (in any speices!!!!!) chris

Aparently they work well on household pipes to reduce water hardness so i don't see why they wouldn't. Would ask LFS for further info though! Chris

Its 200L is there any way of quieting down an air pump as I've heard they are very noisy!
