Here's another picture of my tank. Here you can see the angel fish at the bottom left, directly underneat the betta. You can see my red betta swimming near the surface just to the left of the center. A little bit underneath my betta are the 2 rosy red minnows, with the tadpole vertical behind...
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that my betta is a female betta, and she has been living with a community for the longest in the tank since I've had my 2 rosy red minnows. She does really well I've never seen her fight with other fish. The only thing I've ever seen her do that hints at agression...
You're right, ammonia would be better than food. However, sometimes it's hard for people to get this ... I , for instance, have no idea where to get ammonia from. Well... Other than myself, of course. I'm guessing a hardware store?
I love my snails in my tank. They eat algae , little bits of waste like abandoned fish food or plant debris, and they don't even munch on my plants. They're awesome to have in your tank, in my humble opinion. Although it is a little annoying watching these guys set up shop in your tank...
Hello everyone I'm just back, I'm just checking to see if you guys thought my fish tank could be overstocked. Here's what I have in it right now...
5-6 Nerite Snails
5 Ghost Shrimp
2 Rosy Red Minnows
2 Julii Corys (small sized)
1 Angelfish (Medium sized, not full grown, not small either)
1...
If you're having problems with the tank, I would say just empty out all the water, put new water in the tank that's been conditioned to remove the chlorine, and get the tank running for a few days or maybe even a few weeks. Try to get the tank cycled, meaning give it time for the good bacteria...
Thanks for your replies everyone!
Yes I would like to leave this angelfish as a solo fish for now, as long as he will be happy. He's not small but he's not full-sized either, he's about medium sized, so he still has some time to grow. I'm glad that they do decent as a solo fish. Another...
The dimensions of the tank are around 30 inches across, 18 inches tall, and 12 inches back.
The water that I use is hard
and I'm not sure about the nitrates. I haven't measured that, I am only measuring amonia right now. I've had a pet store check the other paramaters and everything is...
Hi I wanted some opinions on my 28 gallon. I have a few questions too. Here's what I have in it:
1 Bullfrog Tadpole
1 Angelfish
1 female betta
1 Siamese Algae Eater
1 Rosy Red Minnow
1 Nerite Snail
1 Ghost Shrimp
I have a little bit of everything it seems. It's moderately planted, and I'm...
Hello everyone! I wanted to fill you in on some details of my new aquarium before I asked my question...
I have a newly built 28 gallon. I just started it a few weeks ago and right now I have a betta and a red rosy minnow. I also have a couple of ghost shrimp and a little cherry shrimp...
I'm sorry I didn't know that I had to mention everything. I have a filter for a 30 gallon tank, I also have treated the water to remove chlorine, etc from the tank. I only added the 1-2 little goldfish/minnows to start up the nitrogen cycle very slowly. I don't have any method for adding...
Hello I'm starting a 28 gallon tank, mainly just for a couple of bullfrog tadpoles. My stepdad had one in his attic and he gave it to me, it's a little bit old but it's definitely nice. I have had it for about a week, and I've added some pea gravel from Lowe's (which I carefully washed off but...
