Just to let you know, i found two fry in my tank on Friday and my Platy looked like yours. I'm assuming that her gravid spot never became black like others because there was such few fry inside her.

just found a single fry in my tank and the spot is gone! its sooo tiny and clear! i almost missed it!

(i have a 20 gallon tank)Do you see any problems with keeping my two males two females ratio of platies and adding in four or six guppies in the future? p.s. I'm pretty sure she's pregnant. I can't seem to get a justifiable picture. There seems to be black/gray spots on one side in the darker...

Woah i have a platy that looks almost exactly the same. I posted almost the same question. Do you know if they usually have that redish spot there?

Yep, for a week without fish (I read that cycling for more then two days without fish is pointless but i wanted to make sure)and then a week with two fish. Thanks for the info! Anyone else know how I could tell or how I could help you tell?

Thanks :) When I was little I had about eight goldfish. I'd consider this my first actually fish tank though.

I just bought her on Saturday from a tank that had both males and females. I own two males and two females. (thanks! I didn't check the link!)

Is my Platy pregnant or is that just how she looks? I'm new if you can't tell and I can't seem to be 100% sure of my answer no matter how much I try to research. Please help me! Here's a picture to help.
